Alpine
installs field drainage through slit-trenches. The equipment we use - a
trencher and tractor - is so lightweight that it eliminates the need to
protect the surface of the field with plywood, etc. Alpine's trencher loads
the spoil into a hopper as it cuts the trench, eliminating the mess, labor,
and lost time often associated with manually removing it. We then use Alpine's
custom-built trench filler to backfill the trenches with drain gravel or
sand. Not only is Alpine's trench filler as light on the field surface as
our other drainage equipment, it is precise enough to eliminate spillage
of the material being used to backfill the drains, and thus any spoil to
cleanup.
