| Alpine
offers three very different aeration options to address the wide range of
compaction problems we've found in our customers' fields. Surface Shattering Alpine uses an AERA-vator to penetrate the top three inches of the soil structure. The combined motion of the AERA-vator's tines has proven capable of shattering the hardest fields, leaving holes approximately 1.23 inches in diameter across the surface. In addition to solving the problem of compaction in the top three inches, this procedure makes excellent preparation for topdressing. Deep Shattertine Alpine uses an AerWay to penetrate the surface of the field to a depth of six inches, which breaks apart the soil to that depth or greater. This machine also features a full-width roller, which is lowered on the last pass across the field to smooth the surface and stripe the grass. Punch and Fill Alpine's Punch and Fill process uses the AERA-vator to shatter the surface of the field and leave large open holes. We then follow the AERA-vator with a topdressing of compost, vitrified clay, sand, or a mixture of these ingredients to fill the holes. This process can be followed by a drag to pull the topdressed mixture into the holes left by the AERA-vator. At Alpine, we work directly with our customers to determine which aeration option is right for each project. Once the project has clear goals, Alpine will design and implement a solution to meet them. While this is much easier if we're involved with the project from the beginning, it's never too late to call us in to loosen your compacted field surface. |
